A piece of Outer Banks history. This is an extremely
high quality, very unique piece of wood with a story.
Hurricane Irene washed it up onto the side of the road at
the foot of the Melvin Daniels(Little Bridge) on the
Manteo/Nags Head Causeway. It sat on the side of the
road for almost two weeks. It was covered in marsh
grass and debris. You would have never know that a
beautiful piece of driftwood was hiding underneath.

Outer Banks history. This is an extremely high
quality, very unique piece of wood. Another piece of wood
with a story. Hurricane Irene wedged this piece of wood
between two Bonner Bridge pilings at Oregon Inlet. It took
two trips and nearly 30 minutes on the second try for a
grown man to pry it free. Really makes you respect the power
of a hurricane that it can take a 47 lb. piece of wood and
wedge it in there like it was nothing.

one is from a shipwreck that washed up on Carova
Beach. You can barely see it from the photo, but it
has a circular wooden peg in it. They stopped using
wooden pegs a long time ago. Bottom line, this is an
antique. A piece of Outer Banks history. This one
